Weather and dust protection
IP66 is a rating under IEC 60529: the first 6 means dust-tight, the second 6 means protected against powerful water jets from any direction. The rating only holds if every cable entry is sealed with a gland of the same rating or better.
Choosing the material
Powder-coated steel suits dry and sheltered locations at a lower price than stainless. Keep the coating intact around drilled holes.
The same 500 × 700 × 300 mm size is also available in stainless 304.
Size range
Sizes available in powder-coated steel (mm): 400×400×200, 400×500×250, 400×600×250, 600×600×300. Allow spare space for wiring and heat.
