What is a single phase motor?

A single phase motor (also called as a 1 phase motor) is an electric motor that operates on a single 240V AC power supply that is commonly used in Australian resident houses and businesses. Different from three phase motor, it only uses one single AC and relies on capacitor and auxiliary windings to generate the rotating magnetic field that is needed. HankeMotor’s models use CSCR (Capacitor Start, Capacitor Run) design to get higher starting torque and better performance.
